About Us
Hi - I am David Lee - owner of Nautilus Marine. I have been around the water all my life owning my first boat when I was about 12. The picture is a cover of workboat magazine with me at the wheel on the rear station of one of the water taxi's I have owned.

I have a background in the commercial marine business with a 250 ton Master of Minor Waters certificate, and a 40 limited masters ticket. I have owned a commercial towing and water taxi company and managed marine water taxi operations for Rivtow Marine in Vancouver Harbour. I have made numerous trips up and down the inside passage of the British Columbia coast from Vancouver to Prince Rupert. I have owned a Logging Operation in the Kitimat area and know the North Coast very well.
Nautilus Marine has worked on a number of marine related projects such as the Gas pipeline from Powell river to Vancouver Island providing Water Taxi Service on a 24/7 basis for Candive Services. We have worked for Alcan, West Fraser Sawmills, and Mining Exploration Companies. In 2010 we worked with Burrard Clean and Vancouver Paramedic Services as Financial Contract administrators on the Gulf Oil Spill.
Financial Contract Administration ( Checking contract billing and looking for money saving opportunities) is a good fit with my Financial and Tax Planning Buiness which I have run for 12 years( Click here for my website)

Pleasure Craft Operator Card ---The Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations which fall within the Canada Shipping Act,2001 require operators of pleasure craft in Canada, fitted with a motor and used for recreationalpurposes, to have proof of competency on board with them at all times. The regulation applies to sailboats that are fitted with auxiliary motors and to personal watercraft, not just to motorboats. A fine ($250, in the form of a ticket) can be levied by a law enforcement officer upon an operator who fails to show proof of competency (as prescribed within the federal Contraventions Regulations / Contraventions Act).
Currently, proof of competency is required if a person falls into one of two categories:
1. If a person operates a pleasure craft fitted with a motor and if that person was born after 1 April 1983; or
2. If a person operates a pleasure craft that is under 4 metres (13 feet) in length and is fitted with a motor, regardless of that person's age.
All persons born before 1 April 1983 who operate a pleasure craft that is 4 metres or more in length and is fitted with a motor will require proof of operator competency as of 15 September 2009.
Proof of competency can take one of three forms:
